I am truly impressed with Can Cera Hotel.
This recently opened hotel in Palma de Mallorca has absolutely catch the Mediterranean and Mallorcan spirit! Housed in a 17th century palace in the heart of the old city of Mallorca Can Cera offers 5 rooms and 7 suites. Furniture, decoration and art are a dream. To round it all up I should mention the excellence of the gastronomy in this wonderful property.
Don’t miss this gem in our collection of favorite hotels. www.cancera.com
p.s.: Are you wondering what other properties are our favorite??? Well this is very personal but if you ask me… I will speak about Abac Hotel in Barcelona, Palacio del Bailio in Cordoba, Hacienda San Rafael in Sevilla, Finca Cortesin in southern Andalucia near Gibraltar and a few others… More to come!!

Valdemosa is one of the most wonderful towns of Spain. “….I will live in a wonderful monastery located in the nicest place of the world…” Frederic Chopin “Anything that can be dreamt by the painter or the poet has been created by the nature in this place” George Sand
George Sand and Frederic Chopin spent a winter in Mallorca. From November 8th, 1838 to February 13th 1839 they made the, then abandon Carthusian monastery of Valdemosa, their home. The two of them, together with Sand’s two children, had gone in the hope of improving Chopin’s deteriorating health. This trip to Majorca was described by her in Un Hiver à Majorque (A Winter in Majorca), published in 1855.
The news today said that it has been proved that the piano on show at the Carthusian Monastery of Valdemosa was built in the late 19th century thus it was not the one used by the composer. The piano that Chopin used during his stay in the Monastery is the one now on show
Ramon Llul, Chopin, George Sand, Ruben Dario and Jorge Luis Borges are some of the many outstanding personalities that spent some time in this wonderful and truly unique village of the island of Mallorca
